Due to the Wayne County Landfill Being Closed Today, Friday, February 21, 2025 because of inclement weather, only a portion of Thursday’s Garbage Collection Route was collected.
The Wayne County Landfill is Scheduled to be Open Tomorrow, Saturday, February 22, 2025. Staff will complete the remaining portion of Thursday’s Route tomorrow. They will then start collecting Friday’s Route and will complete as much as time allows. Any remaining portion of Friday’s route we be collected on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

Wayne County and the Town of Mount Olive own a vacant lot at 107 Short Street, Mount Olive, North Carolina, Wayne County Parcel Number 2572658205. The County has received a bid of $3,000.00 for this lot. Anyone wishing to place an upset bid must do so by filing and upset bid with the Wayne County Manager located at 224 East Walnut Street, Goldsboro, North Carolina by Friday, February 21, 2025 at 5:00 P.M. The minimum raised bid must be at least $3,245.00.

Per Interim Town Manager Glenn Holland,
We will be waiving late fees for past due water accounts and no account will be cut-off this month.
This will allow the finance department time to address other finance duties.
Beginning Monday, February 17, 2025 and until further notice the Water Billing Department will be operating on the following schedule for customers paying their water bills:
Monday : 8:30am -5:00pm
Tuesday: 8:30am – 1pm
Wednesday; 8:30 – 1pm
Thursday : 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
Friday: Closed to Customers
