Notice of Temporary Street Closures for Sewer Line Point Repairs as Follows:
Tuesday, April 14, 2026, Wednesday, April 15, 2026 & Thursday, April 16, 2026 from 7:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
Beems Street from East James Street to Fox Street (scheduled for Tuesday, April 14, 2026 & possibly a portion of Wednesday, April 15, 2026).
Fox Street to the Dead End Street (Scheduled for Wednesday April 15, 2026, time may vary & Thursday, April 16, 2026).
Contractors will work with residents in these areas to allow them access in and out of their driveways.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
Disconnect for non-payment of water utility bills was put back in effect on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. To avoid disruption of services the balance must be PAID IN FULL or a current payment arrangement in place with the Town of Mount Olive Water Department prior to February 27, 2026, at 12:00 P.M. Failure to do either one of these options will result in disconnection. Water service disconnections will resume on Monday, March 9, 2026. The hours of operation for the Water Billing Department is listed below.

EPA required annual notification lead line
PLEASE NOTE THE NUMBER PRINTED ON THE MAILED FORM IS INCORRECT - IT STATES 910-658-9536 - IT SHOULD BE 919-658-9536.
The EPA requires water systems to notify customers annually about known or potential service lines containing lead, galvanized requiring replacement (GRR), or lead status unknown. This notification must be sent out by December 31st each year until the service line is confirmed to be non-lead. The notification must include information about the health effects of lead, steps to reduce exposure, and opportunities for replacement of the service line. Water systems must also certify to the state that they have completed the required customer notices
As part of the Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR) published December 16, 2021, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires that all community water systems (CWS) and non-transient non-community (NTNC) water systems develop an inventory of all service line connections, both system-owned and customer-owned.
The letter enclosed in the mailing acts as the required notification. This is the same notification received by customers on January 9, 2026.
The Town of Mount Olive is working on a meter replacement project at which time the lines will be identified. Due to government shutdowns the town has not received the FCC licenses for the water meters which has delayed the project. The town is working to move the project. Once complete line will have been identified. By receiving this letter does not mean that there is lead in the water. This letter is to provide information to our customers, so you understand what to look for and what to do if you suspect there is lead in your water.
